The student's and I had an amazing learning experience discovering the 8 moon phases. This activity is very hands on, and is great for having the student's practice collaboration skills!
In this activity, students were paired up and recreated the moon phases with Oreos. They manipulated the Oreos to make the 8 different moon phases,
and then put them in the correct order on their moon phase cycle diagram. To assess the students, I went around and took pictures of their completed diagrams to see who understood the order of the phases and who needs a little extra help. I laminated the moon phase cycle diagram so we can reuse it year after year!
